Over the next three days hundreds of petrolheads will make their way to the annual Cholmondeley Pageant of Power in Cholmondeley. However, this famed celebration of speed isn’t the only Cheshire-based car festival taking place this weekend because today also sees the start of the inaugural Frodsham Fiesta Fiesta which promises to delight anyone who wants to stand in a damp field near Runcorn looking at ‘over 17’ small Ford hatchbacks.

‘There are lots of car shows these days but for some reason not one of them caters for people who like Ford Fiestas,’ explained Fiesta Fiesta organiser Paul Tytt. ‘I was baffled by that and decided to do something about it, spurred on by over four expressions of interest from fellow Fiesta enthusiasts.’

Mr Tytt, who personally owns ‘over two’ Ford Fiestas, promises a cavalcade of treats for anyone who is interested in Ford Fiestas including a 1999 Ford Fiesta 1.3 Encore, a 1987 Ford Fiesta 1.1 L, a 2004 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Firefly special edition and ‘over one’ Ford Fiesta XR2i.

The Frodsham Fiesta Fiesta also promises a range of Fiesta-based attractions including pin the tail on the Fiesta, a uniquely dangerous ‘Fiestacoaster’ and ‘over none’ stalls selling fresh or nearly fresh food.

‘Come on down this weekend! You don’t even have to like Fiestas!’ Mr Tytt insisted. ‘Actually, you do,’ he added, menacingly.
