Damon Hill is ‘dangerous’ and should ‘not be allowed to speak to the media’. That’s the view of the British public after hearing the former world champion saying dismal, unheroic things to the Radio Times.
‘Honestly, the thought of Damon giving another interview makes me shudder,’ said one British motorist. ‘He doesn’t concentrate and he thinks he knows what he’s doing. But he doesn’t.’
‘What happens is, he agrees to give an interview but then he’s thinking about something else,’ another motorist added. ‘So then he’s relying on his unconscious to react to questions. That’s why it’s better if he just keeps his mouth shut.’
‘I don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun,’ the motorist continued. ‘But Damon clearly isn’t equipped to give interviews. He shouldn’t pose for photographs either. Not until he stops trying to look like the fucking Roman God of Wine.’
‘Getting an interview with a national magazine is a very exciting day for many of us,’ the motorist concluded. ‘But there are certain people for whom it’s not enjoyable. Actually, they find it as big of a chore as having to become a Formula 1 driver just because your dad was one, even though you’re not very good and you’d rather pootle about in a 10-year-old Golf talking bollocks.’
