Sources in Italy confirmed this week that Ferrari is to launch a limited run model inspired by Luca di Montezemolo’s amazingly nice hair.
Based on the 458 Italia, the coiffure-commemorating special will be badged LDM Tributo Hairstilo and is set to feature bespoke bodywork that insiders describe as ‘extremely swooping’. The unique panelwork will be sprayed in a one-off shade dubbed ‘Sandy’ although there will be hints of a distinguished grey around the door mirrors.
‘It is right that we pay tribute in this way because Luca di Montezemolo’s hair is at the heart of everything that Ferrari stands for,’ said an unnamed Maranello insider. ‘Also, it is amazingly nice.’
Ferrari must be hoping that the JDM Tributo Hairstilo will be more successful than the infamous 360 Jean Todt Edition of 2003 which managed to be lower yet heavier, had unattractively warty bodywork and was liked by no one.
